Everton make January transfer window decision over Yerry Mina, claims new report

Yerry Mina's time as an Everton player looks set to come to a close - possibly as early as next month

Centre-back Yerry Mina will be allowed to leave Everton next month if an offer is received for him, according to a new report.

The 28-year-old's current contract runs out at the end of the season and Goal correspondent Raisa Simplicio claims that the Blues will make no attempt to retain his services, after a succession of injuries ravaged his Goodison Park career.

Simplicio tweeted: “Yerry Mina has a contract with Everton until June 2023 and in January he can already sign a pre-contract with any club. The English club will not make an effort to keep the defender and if a proposal arrives, he can be released.”

Colombian Mina has fallen down the pecking order since Frank Lampard brought James Tarkowski and Conor Coady to Merseyside in the summer. And with Mason Holgate and Michael Keane also still vying for centre-back berths, Mina's game time prospects look increasingly bleak for the Blues.

Mina may not be the only player possibly on his way out of Everton next month, as manager Lampard looks to bring in new blood to freshen up his squad and help move his team further up to table, to avoid a repeat of last season's nervy relegation battle.
