Craig Gordon Hearts return timeline revealed as Robbie Neilson details plans for stunning comeback from horror leg break

CRAIG GORDON is already plotting a stunning Hearts return next season.
The Scotland keeper has been released from hospital following surgery after he suffered a double leg break at Tannadice on Saturday.
And boss Robbie Neilson revealed the veteran, who faces months of rehab, already has one eye on a return to action
He said: “I’ve been up to see him a couple of times in hospital.
“He’s out today and he’s already talking about timescales and trying to get himself back.
“So that shows the nature of his character and we’ll do everything we can to help him.

“It was devastating for everyone. It was a really horrible incident and a really difficult night.
“But he’s a fighter and I’m sure he’ll be back.”
Neilson went on to describe the keeper, 40 next week, as Hearts best ever player.
He told HeartsTV: “He’s probably the best player Hearts has ever produced, to be honest with you.

“He came through the academy, became an international, played at the very highest level and he’s also a great guy.
“He’s suffered a great blow but I know what he’s like, he’ll be back stronger and fitter than ever.”
Neilson confirmed Stephen Kingsley and Craig Halkett will miss tomorrow night’s trip to St Johnstone.
Kingsley is out due to concussion protocols while Halkett is awaiting a scan on the knee injury he suffered at United.
He said: “We still have a couple out.
"Stephen has his concussion and it looks like Halkett will be out as well.
“But we have a good squad and guys will step in and I’m sure they’ll do well.”
