Aston Villa fans want Robin Olsen's contract terminated after his blunder led to the club's shock FA Cup exit against Stevenage.

Villa took on EFL League two side Stevenage in the FA Cup third-round clash on home soil. And they were poised to cruise into the fourth round as they were winning 1-0, courtesy of Morgan Sanson's goal in the 33rd minute, with two minutes left of normal time on the clock.

But the game took a huge turn as the final whistle edged closer as Stevenage scored a quick-fire double to seal a remarkable 2-1 victory. First, Jamie Reid pulled one back from the penalty spot for Stevenage after his team-mate Dean Campbell was tugged to the ground by Villa defender Leander Dendoncker who got sent off for his actions in the 85th minute.

Then Olsen practically handed Stevenage their win when he failed to stop Campbell's effort from rifling past him at his near post into the bottom corner in the 90th minute. And the Swede's epic blunder infuriated Villa fans so much, they demanded the Premier League outfit oust the keeper immediately - despite the fact Villa's absent defenders were also culpable for the howler after a short corner.

Olsen joined Villa last summer from Roma, and supporters are fed up with the amount of clangers he's made along the way, with the latest one being the final straw. One fan fumed: "Terminate Olsen's contract immediately. Far from the only bad player tonight, but he's been utterly woeful in nearly every game he's played."

And another fan raged: "Olsen beating at his near post there, terminate his contract. The sentiment was a recurring theme throughout the post as Villa's faithful voiced their fury toward Olsen.

Olsen's blunder means Unai Emery's side can now focus on getting into the top half of the Prem table where they sit three points behind a hapless Chelsea side who were also dumped out of the FA Cup by merciless Manchester City. Villa fans will hope the news of Harry Maguire joining the club from Man United is true to plug the gaps in their leaky defence.

But meanwhile, Stevenage are basking in the glory of their huge third round upset. And they'll be amped up going into the fourth round where Stoke City await.
