Welcome to football.london's live coverage of Arsenal's FA Cup third-round tie against Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium.

The Gunners, who were eliminated at this very stage of the competition last season, know that victory tonight over the League One side will set up a fourth-round tie against Manchester City later this month as the draw took place before their win over Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

And the good news for Mikel Arteta ahead of kick-off is that he once again has a near full-strength squad to choose from with Emile Smith Rowe on course to make his first appearance since September following surgery to correct an ongoing groin problem.

With that said, the confirmed Arsenal team sees the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Fabio Vieira all start, whilst Thomas Partey, Martin Odegaard and Oleksandr Zinchenko are on the bench just six days before the North London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

Kick-off is at 8pm, Tom Canton and Tashan Deniran-Alleyne will be on hand to provide build-up to the game, confirmed team news as well as live updates on the action, analysis and reaction from the Kassam Stadium.

Player ratings

Arsenal got there in the end as their quality told in the second half. Eddie Nketiah was the standout player with a brace, but Fabio Vieira helped himself to a pair of assists and Emile Smith Rowe returned.

      FULL-TIME

And that is that. Arsenal are safely through to round four of the FA Cup thanks to goals from Mohamed Elneny and Eddie Nketiah (2) in a much improved second half display.

      We're into injury time

      Two minutes added on

      Nketiah named man-of-the-match

Two goals (so far) earn Eddie Nketiah the Emirates man-of-the-match award. Still time to get a hat-trick.

      Easy save for Turner

It's a good delivery but Long's header is comfortable for Turner to save

      Oxford - free-kick

Free-kick in a dangerous position for the hosts. A chance for a consolation perhaps?

      More Arsenal changes

White and Marquinhos replace Tomiyasu and Vieira.

      Oxford changes

Goodrham and O'Donkor have replaced Taylor and Bodin for Oxford

      Arsenal 3-0

Arsenal score again and it's a wonderful finish from Eddie Nketiah as he lifts the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper. That's two for him tonight.

      Smith Rowe is back!

That's Saka's final action for the night but Emile Smith Rowe is back!

      Saka treatment

Oh no! Bukayo Saka is down again and this time he requires treatment.

      2-0 Arsenal

Eddie Nketiah latches onto a pass from Fabio Vieira, rounds the keeper and slots the ball home to give Arsenal a 2-0 lead.

      Arsenal fans in full voice

"1-0 to the Arsenal" sings the away supporters. If the scoreline remains the same then the Gunners will face Manchester City in round four later this month.

      Elneny celebrates

Mohamed Elneny doesn't score many, but when he does it's often from long range. Of course, this one was very different as he rose highest to nod the ball home from inside the penalty area.

      1-0 Arsenal

There's the breakthrough, Mohamed Elneny heads home from Fabio Vieira's free-kick and Arsenal have the lead.

      Oxford sub

      Wildschut on for Murphy

      Double Arsenal change

Tierney and Lokonga off, Zinchenko and Xhaka on

      Yellow card

Ciaran Brown goes into the book for a foul on Eddie Nketiah. The Oxford United defender now has to watch his step.

      Big header from Gabriel

A decent cross is sent into the box, but Gabriel Magalhaes does brilliantly to get his head to the ball.

      Arsenal stepping up the pressure

McGinty has to push Saka's corner away at his near post otherwise that was creeping in.

      Saka - off the line

Nice play between Fabio Vieira and Saka down the right, the latter works the ball on to his left-foot but sees his effort cleared off the line.

      Oxford chance

Oxford come close to breaking the deadlock as Matty Taylor springs the offside trap but his first touch is too heavy and Matt Turner has the situation under control.

      Arsenal straight on the attack

No change in personnel from Arsenal but a change in approach as they are straight on the attack to force a corner from which comes to nothing.

      Second half underway

We are back underway in the second half, can Arsenal find a breakthrough?

      Arsenal unlucky?

During the half-time break, Karen Carney stated that Arsenal were unlucky to not be awarded a penalty when Sambi Lokonga's effort was blocked by the hand of Elliott Moore.

It's worth noting there is no VAR tonight as the tie is being played at a League One ground.

I think that’s a good save. I think that’s a penalty, I really do, and that would be given if there was VAR and it was at a Premier League ground. That’s my opinion anyway.

      Arsenal must improve

Not a great game this. One half chance for Arsenal towards the end of the half when Nketiah went close, but nothing in terms of clear-cut chances. Bukayo Saka has marginally been the Gunners' best player, but even he has been thwarted time and time again.

      Half-time

      It's goalless at the break.
