Celtic boss gives Cho Gue-sung update after transfer ‘blow’ and latest on futures of Juranovic and Giakoumakis

ANGE POSTECOGLOU refused to be drawn out on reports linking Celtic with Cho Gue-sung while shrugging off "team instability" claims as his star duo exits linger.

The Hoops boss claims only "10 percent" of stories linking players with Celtic are true amid growing speculation with his side's interest in South Korean striker Cho Gue-sung.

The 24-year-old has attracted a lot of interest from clubs around the globe after his stellar performances at the World Cup in Qatar.

And when asked about the Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors forward, Postecoglou replied: "I'm not sure who is linking us, so I don't really know.

"I'm not across it all the time but Iain (Jamieson) keeps me abreast. I reckon about 10 percent of what is out there is anywhere close to the truth.

"I don't think that is because people are deliberately being misleading. People get a bit of information from their cousin's barber's neighbour and it becomes Celtic are linked to a player.

"From my perspective again, I don't really stress about that stuff. People have seen in the past that we do it. We don't do it through the media, links or speculation. If there's an opportunity there and we feel good about it, then we'll move quickly and get it down."

Postecoglou also stated there is no "uncertainty or instability" within his side despite the speculation surrounding Josip Juranovic and Giorgos Giakoumakis.

The Celtic boss claims he hasn't seen anything concrete in terms of offers for either of the players and insists he won't sweat on the duo's futures.

On whether there are any updates regarding a potential exit, he said: "No. The nature of the business means that the whole of January there will be speculation, but from my perspective I don't deal with it until it comes to me.

"If it comes to me, it means there's something there, but we haven't had anything like that for any players up until this point. Everybody's focused on the game.

"I don't really feel like it's dragging on because we're not hanging onto anything. In terms of incomings, we're still in a position there where if the opportunity is there, we'll move, and we tend to move quickly with these things. In terms of outgoings, it's not really something where I sit there on a daily basis and think about what's happening.

"I'm comfortable with where we're at in terms of the boys, they're all really focused on the next game and there's no uncertainty or instability within the group."
