Julen Lopetegui responds to Pablo Sarabia question as Wolves close on transfer
Latest Wolves news from BirminghamLive includes Julen Lopetegui's response to a Pablo Sarabia question
Julen Lopetegui has refused to be drawn on Pablo Sarabia’s impending transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wolves have agreed a deal to sign Spain international Sarabia, 30, from Paris Saint-Germain for around £6million. Sarabia is expected to arrive in Wolverhampton later this week to complete his transfer.
Lopetegui has previously confirmed the arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Mario Lemina before Wolves’ official announcements, but he is clearly reluctant to discuss Sarabia before the ex-Sevilla star has entered the building.

“We will see,” Lopetegui said when quizzed on Sarabia. “It’s true we have interest in some players, but when they are here and our players we can talk about them - not before. It’s better for all of us. I want to put the focus on the players for tomorrow.”
Lopetegui wouldn’t be drawn on interest in Craig Dawson either, despite West Ham manager David Moyes confirming Wolves have bid for the defender. Dawson was omitted from West Ham’s squad for their defeat to Wolves on Saturday.
Wolves are expected to seal the signing of Brazilian starlet Joao Gomes this week. The midfielder is due to jet in to England to complete his switch from Flamengo after a €17m deal was agreed.
