‘Allan McGregor is the best goalkeeper in Scotland’, claims defiant Rangers boss Michael Beale

MICHAEL BEALE has hailed Allan McGregor as the best goalkeeper in Scotland.
The Rangers No 1 made crucial saves in Sunday’s Viaplay Cup semi-final win over Aberdeen.
And Ibrox boss Beale insists the 40-year-old proved there’s no one better in the country.
The Gers boss rested Greegsy for last week’s league win over Dundee United at Tannadice and has vowed to give back-up goalies Jon McLaughlin and Robby McCrorie game time.
But he insisted: ”Allan is the best goalie in Scotland.
"We’ve an unbelievable trust, built up over a long period of time.

“But the majority of the time he’ll play. In my opinion he’s the No 1 goalkeeper in Scotland and we’re not far off having that with the other couple in the building.
“He’s our No 1, but Jon and Robby are two excellent goalkeepers.
“I get, ‘Allan McGregor, you leave him out’, but he’s completely up to speed with everything that’s going on. He’s a really mature man.

“The way the modern game’s going, at different times you look at people and you think they might need a little break and someone else to come back in.
“That’s what I’m paid to do and if I get the majority of those decisions right, I’ll stay in a job and if I don’t, I won’t.
"I’m a big boy.”
