Wolverhampton Wanderers confirm the signing of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Pablo Sarabia on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed that they have completed the signing of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Pablo Sarabia.

After Mario Lemina joined Matheus Cunha in moving to Molineux on Friday, attention soon turned to trying to get deals for Sarabia and Joao Gomes over the line.

If reports are to be believed, the deal for the latter is now in doubt with Lyon said to be rivalling Wolves for the Flamengo midfielder.

However, the transfer of Sarabia has proven to be a smoother process, the West Midlands outfit confirming on Tuesday evening that they have secured the services of the Spain international.

Wolves have revealed that the 30-year-old has penned a contract at the club until the end of the 2024-25 season.

While a fee has not been confirmed, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says that Wolves have parted with a fee of €5m (£4.4m).

Sarabia leaves Parc des Princes having made 42 starts and 47 substitute outings since moving to the club from Sevilla in July 2019.

During that time, he chipped in with 22 goals and 12 assists, but it was his performances in the colours of Sporting Lisbon that have really stood out in recent campaigns.

In a season on loan at the Portuguese outfit in 2021-22, Sarabia contributed 21 strikes and 10 assists from 45 appearances, and he will now ply his trade in a fourth country after spells in France, Portugal and his homeland.

Sarabia could come into contention for a debut at Manchester City on Sunday afternoon after receiving minutes for PSG since the turn of the year.

He completed the game as PSG defeated Chateuaroux in the Coupe de France on January 6, taking him to six starts and 13 substitute outings for the season.

Although Sarabia was part of the Spain squad for the World Cup, he only featured for the closing minutes of extra time in the last-16 defeat to Morocco.
