West Ham bid for Danny Ings?

The Hammers, who take on Everton in a bottom of the table clash on Saturday, are locked on 15 points alongside Frank Lampard's side and the signing of Ings could be the difference between staying in the Premier League or playing Championship football next season.

Should Everton counter by launching a new offer of their own?

Ben Brereton Diaz udate

Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz seems to be off to Villarreal in the summer when his contract expires at the Lancashire club.

Everton had been linked with the Chile international, but a pre-contract with the La Liga outfit is set to be signed. A blow for Frank Lampard as the search for a striker continues.

Strange decision?

A temporary concussion substitute trial in the Premier League next season has been rejected by the game's lawmakers. Football looked at what rugby do so well in terms of helping with concussion, but the lawmakers of the game decided against the ruling.

Why would they decide against this?

Frank Lampard's challenge

Frank Lampard has issued a challenge to Everton youngster Isaac Price as the first team door remains open to the starlet.

"It is the reality for a lot of players, but he definitely deserves a lot of credit for how he has trained and how he has forced himself into the reckoning to get onto the pitch for us. He is a really talented boy, he has got a nice work ethic about him, he is ambitious and all those things, so he is certainly putting himself in my thinking in terms of the midfield."

Further Dembele reports

New reports from France have emerged on Everton's 'interest' in Moussa Dembele.

Jeunes Footeux via Sport Witness say there is still 'work to do' to bring the Frenchman to the Premier League.

While a move hasn't been ruled out, it has been said that he'd like to see out the season in Ligue 1 before choosing his next destination - his contract expires in the summer - and he is apprehensive amid Everton's precarious position.

Level at the break

Despite taking the lead, the young Blues have had to come from behind and go in at half-time level.

Everton Shareholders Association call for 'vote of no confidence' in club board

The Everton Shareholders Association (EFCSA) have today released an online petition calling for "a vote of no confidence" in the club's board of directors.

And a fan group has urged owner Farhad Moshiri to "accelerate" changes to the hierarchy ahead of another Goodison Park protest.

The Blues are currently second from bottom in the Premier League, with just 15 points from 19 games. Once again the danger of relegation looms large after last season's late escape.

It has been a difficult January so far for Everton, with no new signings secured and three defeats suffered.

Everton match could be key in Moyes' West Ham reign

Ahead of Everton's clash with West Ham this Saturday, David Moyes has been listed as the favourite to be the next manager axed.

Wolves picked up an important win at home over the Hammers which saw the east London side slip into the bottom three.

It has been reported that if Moyes was to lose against his former side on Saturday, he could become the sixth manager to be axed this season.

Moussa Dembele 'stumbling block'

Everton are expected to fail in their efforts to sign Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, according to Football Insider.

The French forward has six months remaining on his current deal at the Ligue 1 side and the Blues were said to be in the hunt for the forward.

However, it has been reported that the Blues 'would struggle' to front the fee to sign Dembele permanently and alternatively would look to welcome him on loan.

As a result, Lyon have 'made it clear' that they do not want to loan him out this month, as per the Football Insider report.

Frank Lampard has quietly raised 'alarming' Everton transfer question with double decision

It was seen by many as a last roll of the dice from Frank Lampard.

With his side trailing 2-1 to Southampton at Goodison Park, on came Ellis Simms with just eight minutes of normal time remaining. It was the second time Simms has come off the bench since returning from a successful loan spell with Sunderland.

As Simms made his way on for Idrissa Gueye, he did so to loud cheers from those inside Goodison Park. Everton supporters knew this was their last chance of rescuing something from a game they simply couldn’t afford to lose.

The 22-year-old tried his best, but ultimately could do nothing to prevent his side from suffering a fourth straight defeat at Goodison Park. Just like Dominic Calvert-Lewin had suffered all game, the forward was a victim of a lack of service from those in the supply areas of the pitch.

Southampton could beat Everton to a signing as they work towards a permanent deal for Nicolas Jackson according to The Athletic.

The Saints, it has been said, are getting closer to an agreement worth in the region of £17.5m. The Blues have been previously plotting a move for the forward.

However, it appears that Nathan Jones will get one of his targets as they edge towards a deal.

Everton 'interested' in Niclas Fullkrug

Everton are among the clubs interested in signing Germany's World Cup star Niclas Füllkrug from Werder Bremen.

The striker was one of the shining lights of a dismal tournament for Die Mannschaft as they were dumped out at the Group Stages for the second in as many World Cups.

Fullkrug has 10 goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances this season and is courting interest from Borussia Monchengladbach, TSG Hoffenheim and now, the Blues - according to Sport Bild, via TransferMarkt.

To caveat that, Sporting Director Frank Baumann said they didn't need to 'generate transfer income' this month, adding, he 'firmly assumes' he will stay put. But it hasn't stopped the speculation.

It has been said that the German forward wants to move to a 'top club' in the summer, according to the TransferMarkt report.

Marko Arnautovic 'unlikely'

Everton's pursuit of Marko Arnautovic is 'unlikely' amid their struggles, according to reports.

The former Stoke City striker currently plies his trade in Serie A with Bologna and became the latest forward to be linked with aiding the Blues attacking problems.

Tutto Bologna Web however have reported that there won't be any 'unpleasant surprises' regarding his future.

It has been claimed that Everton are sounding out the Italian market after loan attempts with the right to buy were made for Beto and Duvan Zapata of Udinese and Atalanta respectively.

West Ham 'challenge' Everton for Duvan Zapata

Everton are reportedly facing competition from West Ham in the race to sign Duvan Zapata, according to the Daily Mail.

David Moyes is said to be eyeing reinforcements in forward areas as the Hammers face a relegation scrap with the Scottish manager looking to gazump his former club in the process.

Nottingham Forest are also said to be interested but he is currently valued at £25m. Further reports in Italy suggest that the Blues are eyeing a temporary move for the 31-year-old.

However, as per Tuttomercato Web, Atalanta will only let him go on a permanent.

Everton 'eye' Dembele

Everton are reportedly targeting a move for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele according to reports.

The Frenchman is out of contract in the summer and Foot Mercato are reporting that the Blues could swoop after failing to commit to the club.

As per the French outlet, Everton were ready to wait until the end of the season but it has been said they could bring forward a deal as they lead the chase to sign the 26-year-old.
