James Tarkowski sends blunt message to team-mates amid Everton protests


James Tarkowski believes it is important Everton’s players focus on their own jobs and don’t get distracted by supporters’ protests as they are out of their control.


Everton’s poor run of form continued at the weekend as they were beaten 2-1 by Southampton at Goodison Park. James Ward-Prowse’s second-half double cancelling out Amadou Onana’s first-half header.

However, the game was overshadowed by off-the-field issues. Ahead of the game, Everton’s board of directors were advised not to attend the game because of a 'real and credible threat to their safety and security'.

However, Merseyside Police said on Monday that Everton did not report any of the threats to them and that they would liaise with the club to 'establish if any offences have taken place' and to ensure any future complaints are raised through the proper channels.

Duvan Zapata 'preference' named as Everton rivalled potential £25m transfer

West Ham are reportedly looking to challenge Everton for Atalanta forward Duvan Zapata but the Hammers may have an advantage in their pursuit.

According to the Daily Mail, the Hammers have joined the race to sign the 31-year-old and have a slight advantage in the hunt for the Colombian as he prefers a move to London.


Steve Cooper's Nottingham Forest are also said to be interested in the attacker as they look to continue adding reinforcements to their squad in a bid to avoid falling into the Championship at the first time of asking.

With the transfer window entering its final two weeks, it could see three Premier League clubs battle it out to sign a striker who has scored 80 times for Atalanta.
