Hibs agree fee for Kevin Nisbet transfer with Millwall as Ryan Porteous ready to depart for Watford

KEVIN NISBET will hold talks with Millwall after the Lions finally met Hibs price for the Scotland striker.

And Ryan Porteous is also heading for The Championship with Watford - but is unlikely to leave before Saturday’s clash with Aberdeen.

Having failed with THREE previous bids the London club returned with an offer of £2million plus add-ons for the 25-year-old striker.

Owner Ron Gordon was keen to keep the player, who has scored seven goals in seven games since returning from an ACL injury in December.

But with 18 months left on his contract he has decided to cash in now, rather than let him run his deal down the way team-mate Porto has in recent months.

And Nisbet will now discuss terms and have a medical today with a view to joining Gary Rowett’s side in a deal which could eventually be worth £2.4million to the Edinburgh club.

Porteous is also poised to leave with Watford in talks to bring in the Scotland defender, whose deal is up at the end of the season.

Manager Slaven Bilic is anxious to sign another defender following the departure of William Troost-Ekong to Salernitana earlier this week.

Hibs, however, have a defensive crisis ahead of Saturday’s clash with Jim Goodwin’s men.

Rocky Bushiri is out as he awaits scan results on the leg injury he suffered against Hearts.

The club first feared he had broken his leg but that does not appear to be the case.

But the severe bruising has meant they are unable to have the injury scanned further.

Club captain Paul Hanlon is also struggling with injury, leaving Manchester United loanee Will Fish, who has only played twice, available to boss Lee Johnson.

So unless Hibs can bring in at least one new stopper ahead of the Dons meeting Johnson would prefer Porteous stays in the building until then.

And that could see the move, which will be worth around £200,000, drag on to next week.
