Rangers boss Michael Beale slams Morgan Whittaker bid claim as he gives update on Nicolas Raskin and Jake Cooper pursuit

MICHAEL BEALE has flatly denied that Rangers have returned with a £2m bid for Swansea City star Morgan Whittaker.
And he has distanced himself from rumours that the Ibrox club have already got Nicolas Raskin tied up on a pre-contract.
The Gers boss is on the record as a huge admirer of both players, with Standard Liege rebuffing a £440,000 bid for the Belgian star.
Beale has also made an offer for Swansea City star Whittaker - but he has insisted that reports of a £2m offer are wide of the mark.
Beale said: “We already have a fantastic player in place this week in Cantwell.
“It’s not true we have signed a pre-contract with anyone, we are busy working in the background.

“There are plans in place for signings and lots of noise around one or two.”
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said Whittaker had been subject of a fresh £2m bid.
Romano was of the opinion that this was Gers' THIRD offer for the Swansea star.
He wrote: "Understand Rangers have returned with new official bid for Morgan Whittaker.

"The proposal is in the region of £2m. It’s up to Swansea again after two bids already rejected for talented winger."
In addition to Cantwell, one man who will feel like a new signing is Ianis Hagi, who could return for his first appearance in a YEAR.
Beale said: “Ianis Hagi will be in the squad. It’s been a year since he has played a game.
"I’m delighted to have him back. He isn’t ready for 90 minutes.
"To have him and Todd Cantwell is great.
"We feel in a really strong place with those two available.
"They have been great in training. It gives us a lot of variety and competition for places."
