SHAUN MALONEY has had a week to remember.
The former Celtic forward helped make the Scottish Cup draw last weekend then returned yesterday to Wigan Athletic as manager – his first dug-out post since leaving Hibs in April.

And in between the two the former Belgium assistant also celebrated a landmark birthday as he hit the big 4-Oh.
Maloney has crammed a lot into his football career so far as a player, coach and manager.
And most of those memories – as well as a few of his hobbies – were all represented on a bumper birthday cake baked to celebrate the big occasion.
The giant treat was commissioned by Shaun’s wife Stephanie and made by speciality baker Christie who runs Cake Days A Week, a “cake designer from Glasgow specialising in the weird, wonderful & whimsical”.

And the baker has managed to cram in so many aspects of the former Scotland star’s career.
There’s a Celtic shirt with Maloney 29 on the back and the words “we are Glasgow’s green and white”.
There’s a Red Devil and Belgium flag to represent his days assisting Roberto Martinez with the national team.
In the middle Christie has added a Wigan scarf – with Maloney having played there for four seasons and won the FA Cup prior to returning there this weekend as manager.

There’s an orange and black block to represent his time at Hull City as well as a Chicago Fire board from the forward’s short spell in the United States in 2015.
Maloney’s 47 international appearances are also recognised with a large Scotland badge and a commemorative cap.
Some of his hobbies and interests are on there too – a set of golf clubs, a “I love coffee” mug and a bottle or two of red wine.
The only club seemingly NOT represented on the cake is Hibs where Maloney had an unhappy four months as manager between December 2021 and last April.
Although there is a green and white football at his feet – which could be a nod to those days at Easter Road.
Cake Days a Week wrote on their Instagram page: “For Shaun. It was a pleasure making your 40th cakes on behalf of your gorgeous @stephaniexmaloney featuring all of your favourite things and football accolades.”
