Rangers squad revealed as Nicolas Raskin in work permit wait and Fashion Sakala starting return on the cards
The Belgian midfielder was signed on deadline day but the necessary paperwork is unlikely to be completed in time for a Tynecastle debut.
Rangers fans will be desperate to catch a glimpse of new signing Nicolas Raskin after the Belgian midfielder arrived at Ibrox in a deadline day signing.
But the likelihood is the light blue legions will have to wait to see the former Standard Liege man in action. On announcing the capture of the 21-year-old, the club said the signing was subject to obtaining a work permit and that he would start training with his new team-mates in the "coming days". On top of that, Raskin didn't feature for his former club latterly after being frozen out by ex Celtic boss Ronny Deila. Plus, a trip to Tynecastle on a midweek night might not be the environment to throw in a new signing for a quick fire debut.
Twelve months ago, another of Deila's former charges, James Sands, made his bow in a tough away game at Pittodrie. The American struggled to cope in a match that ended 1-1 and was another dent in Rangers' title hopes.
Todd Cantwell did make an immediate debut at the weekend when the former Norwich City man started the 2-0 win over St Johnstone at Ibrox. But that was a home match against a struggling side.
A trip to Hearts is a totally different challenge and he could make way with Michael Beale likely to go with Fashion Sakala. Record Sport takes a look at the potential line-up
