Former Rangers star Kyle Lafferty signs for Linfield just eight days after shock Kilmarnock exit

FORMER Rangers and Kilmarnock striker Kyle Lafferty has completed a switch to Linfield, joining the Irish Premiership champions until the end of the season.
The 35-year old made a shock exit from Killie just over a week ago and he's quickly been snapped up.
The Northern Ireland striker's move sees him link up with David Healy once again.
The two were teammates at Rangers and for their country, with Healy now manager at the Belfast-based outfit.
Kilmarnock sprung a big transfer deadline day shock when they announced Lafferty's departure.
He'd only just recently returned after serving a 10-match ban after admitting making a sectarian comment to a Celtic fan in a social media that had gone viral.

Lafferty has played in several countries during his career, including Italy, Switzerland and Cyprus.
But this'll be the first time the big striker, born in Enniskillen, played senior football in Northern Ireland.
It was with Burnley in English football where he got his breakthrough after joining the club in 2004.
He was then snapped up by Rangers in 2008, going on to spend four years at Ibrox.

Lafferty scored the goal that clinched the SPL title in 2010 in a 1-0 win over Hibs, before firing a hat-trick a year later as the Gers secured the title on the final day with a thumping 5-1 win over future club Killie in the legendary Walter Smith's final game in charge.
After leaving Rangers in 2012, he moved on to Sion in Switzerland and then headed to Italy with Palermo.
Spells at Norwich, Turkish side Caykur Rizespor and Birmingham City followed before he returned to Scottish football with Hearts in 2017.
An excellent season at Tynecastle saw Lafferty return to Rangers under Steven Gerrard, but departed just a year later.
Lafferty subsequently spent time with Sarpsborg in Norway, Sunderland then back in Italy with Reggina before being snapped up by Killie in February 2021.
Despite 13 goals in 13 games, he couldn't save Kilmarnock from relegation to the Championship.
After a brief spell with Anorthosis in Cyprus, Lafferty returned to Rugby Park in January 2022 on a short-term deal that was then extended by a year at the end of the season.
However, he ended up missing a huge chunk of the campaign after being hit with that 10-game ban.
The Scottish FA punishment was handed down after a video emerged on social media of Lafferty being pranked by a Celtic fan in a nightclub.
After the fan shouts 'up the Celtic,' Lafferty could be seen aiming the slur "Fenian b******" in his response.
Kilmarnock immediately launched an investigation into the situation and slapped the 35-year old with a huge fine.
He was also axed from the Northern Ireland squad having been on international duty at the time of the video emerging.
But the star's ban ended just before the recent Viaplay Cup semi-final against Celtic - with Lafferty brought back into the fold.
He featured four times following his mid-January return, with his final game coming in the 3-0 defeat to Ross County on January 28.
Three days later, Killie stunned fans by announcing his departure.
Manager Derek McInnes admitted in the days that followed that he hadn't been expecting the 35-year old to depart.

He said: "It was between the club and Kyle, I have said that enough. It wasn't something we were anticipating.
"We were trying to get one or two in, I wasn't expecting anyone to leave so the timing of that as a manager is disappointing."
