Shaun Maloney hailed by Wigan fans as crowd give ex-Hibs boss hilarious new chant after winning first game as manager

FORMER Hibs boss and Celtic star Shaun Maloney now has his own chant after securing his first win as boss of Wigan Athletic.
Fans of the English side serenaded their new gaffer as he returned to the DW Stadium, having spent four successful seasons with them as a player.
Maloney was back in the managerial hot seat following his sacking by the Easter Road side last season. He took charge of just 19 games following his appointment in December 2021, winning six, drawing six and losing seven.
The ex-Scotland international was relieved of his duties soon after a defeat to Edinburgh rivals Hearts in last season’s Scottish Cup semi-final.
Maloney’s time in Leith may not be remembered fondly, but his new supporters are full of admiration for him already.
After replacing another former Hoops player in Kolo Toure as manager, his first match in charge ended in a stalemate with Blackburn Rovers.

And during the Latics’ 1-0 win Championship over Huddersfield at the weekend, the home fans showed their appreciation for their returning favourite with an inventive new song top the tune of the Hokey Cokey.
A video posted on Wigan’s official Twitter account shows the jubilant crowd singing: "You put your left leg in, your left leg out, in, out, in, out, shake it all about, you do the Shaun Maloney and you turn around, that's what it's all about! Oh Shaun Maloney!"
The club’s also posted a picture of their new boss with the caption: “Go on, admit it - it's still stuck in your head, isn't it?”
Supporters seemingly can’t get enough of it with one replying: “Been walking round the house whistling it all morning.”

Meanwhile another fan of the Championship outfit said he has been told off by his wife for randomly bursting into the chant.
The victory over fellow Championship strugglers Huddersfield leaves Maloney’s team third from bottom, a point above the Terriers and Blackpool at the foot of the table.
The side still currently sit in the automatic relegation places, level on points with Cardiff City, but the Welsh team’s superior goal difference currently keeps them above the drop zone.
