Bony last played for Dutch side NEC Nijmegen, but he was released when his contract expired.
The Ivorian returned to Wales - where he had his most successful spell with Swansea - to train with Newport County in an attempt to keep his match fitness. Newport boss Graham Coughlan admitted he wouldn't turn down the chance to sign Bony.
He told the BBC: "You never say never in football and if Wilf was up for it and he wanted, we would certainly sit and talk to him. If he raised his fitness levels we could have that conversation, I am open to anything."
