Juventus are reportedly set to sell midfielder Denis Zakaria, with Chelsea in pole position to sign him permanently when his loan deal ends in the summer.

Chelsea are reportedly considering making Denis Zakaria's loan deal permanent, after his parent club Juventus revealed they are looking to sell the player in the summer.

The Swiss midfielder joined the Premier League side on deadline day in August with an option to buy for £27m at the end of the season.

With Juventus in a precarious position following their 15-point deduction in Serie A, the club are expected to sell many of their assets in the summer, especially if they fail to make the Champions League.

Despite having already signed Enzo Fernandez for big money, Chelsea may opt to look at other targets to bolster their midfield.

According to the Evening Standard, Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice are said to be at the top of their transfer wishlist, but both will cost significantly more than the £27m needed to meet the clause in Zakaria's contract.

Injuries have hampered Zakaria's spell at Stamford Bridge, as he has made just four Premier League starts this season.

However, he did return to the bench for their Champions League tie with Borussia Dortmund in midweek, so Graham Potter will hope that he can make a solid contribution for the side until the end of the campaign.
