James Tavernier leads Rangers hall of fame inductees as veteran duo Allan McGregor and Steven Davis join class of 2023

The experienced players are the first three names to join the group of Ibrox legends since 2014.

Captain James Taverner, goalkeeper Allan McGregor and veteran midfielder Steven Davis have been named as the first inductees into the Rangers hall of fame this year.

The veteran goalkeeper and experienced midfielder have kickstarted the first group of inductees to received the legendary accolade since 2014 after becoming a firm fan favourite across his two spells at Ibrox. The 40-year-old made his debut for Rangers in 2002 before becoming first choice in 2006, where he would go on to make a whopping 278 appearances for the club.


When the club were demoted in 2012 he would leave for Besiktas before joining Hull City before returning to Ibrox in 2018. Since then he has added a Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup winners media to his haul. He also helped the club reach a historic Europa League Final last season. Davis also joins McGregor in the hall of fame after forging a successful career at Ibrox after joining the club back in 2008 on loan from Fulham.

He would go on to lift three league titles and help the club reach the UEFA Cup final before leaving the club in 2012 for Southampton. He would return in 2019 and continue to add trophies lifting the league title and Scottish Cup.

Finally, Tavernier joined Rangers when they were in the Scottish Championship in 2015 and led them to promotion. Since then he has lifted the Premiership crown, Scottish Cup and came within a penalty kick of a historic European success.
