Real Betis came from two goals down to beat Elche 3-2 in LaLiga, with Willian Jose stepping up to score the winning penalty in stoppage time.
Bottom side Elche went two goals clear within the opening ten minutes, but Real Betis turned it around in the second half, scoring two penalties in a match which saw four spot-kicks awarded, and three converted.
The maximum points moved Real Betis to within one point of fourth-placed side Atletico Madrid, whilst Elche remain stuck at the foot of the table with just one win.
It was the perfect start for the hosts. Elche went 2-0 up in ten minutes. After a VAR check awarded them a penalty just six minutes into the fixture, Fidel converted it, while Lucas Boye doubled the hosts' advantage just two minutes later.
But in the second half, things started to go awry for Pablo Machin's men. The visitors made a number of crucial changes, and three substitutes were critical in reversing the fortunes of the teams.

Borja Iglesias scored the first and played a key part in getting the second goal for Real Betis
First, Elche's Lisandro Magallan was dismissed in the 57th minute after a VAR check overturned an initial yellow card, while the referee also sent off Pape Cheikh Diop, an unused substitute for the hosts, for his complaints.
Real Betis took advantage of the extra man, pulling back first through Borja Iglesias's penalty after 65 minutes. Three minutes later, Juan Miranda equalised, with Iglesias playing a crucial role in that goal as well.
Two minutes were left on the clock in regulation time when Iglesias had the chance to secure the win with another penalty, but his shot from the 12-yard spot was expertly saved by the Elche goalkeeper Edgar Badia.
Just when it looked like Elche might hold on for a point, stoppage time saw them concede another penalty, this time when Enzo Roco was judged to have handled the ball in the danger zone. It was his second yellow card, and Elche were reduced to nine men for the closing moments.
After Iglesias's earlier miss, this time the penalty duty fell to another substitute, Willian Jose, who made no mistake to seal the turnaround for Real Betis.
Earlier on Friday, Real Betis were drawn against Premier League side Manchester United in the last-16 of the Europa League.
