Clinton Morrison urges Tottenham Hotspur to focus on the top four of the Premier League after exiting the FA Cup. He believes Spurs have ‘no chance’ to win the Champions League.
Tottenham crashed out of the FA Cup on Wednesday after a 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United in the fifth round. Iliman Ndiaye (79’) weaved his way through the area to hit a superb late winner. He had been on the pitch for just a mere six minutes before beating Fraser Forster.
Spurs laboured their way through much of the Bramall Lane affair and seldom tested Wes Foderingham. Richarlison, in particular, failed to challenge the shot-stopper as the £50m – rising to £60m after add-ons – star blazed one shot over and spooned another miles wide.

Sheffield United also restricted Harry Kane to just one real sight of the goal after he came off the Tottenham bench. But the striker sent his unmarked header wide of the post from six yards out. While the Blades will now get to take on Blackburn Rovers in the quarter-finals.
Tottenham travelled to Sheffield United in the FA Cup on the back of beating Chelsea 2-0 in the Premier League. The London derby moved Spurs onto 45 points through 25 fixtures in fourth in the table. They are four points clear of fifth but have played two more matches.

Tottenham told to focus on the Premier League top four over the Champions League
Tottenham are also still in the Champions League but trail AC Milan 1-0 in the Round of 16. The Rossoneri secured the lead on aggregate after a narrow first leg at San Siro. The Serie A side will travel to north London to face Spurs in the reverse encounter next Wednesday.
But Morrison believes Tottenham should focus on finishing in the Premier League top four over winning a dream first Champions League title. Newcastle United can move above the north Londoners with their games in hand. Liverpool, in sixth, also have one game in hand.
“Tottenham have got no chance of the Champions League,” Morrison said on BBC Radio 5 Live. “They need to concentrate on the top four. They might beat Milan – but [the FA Cup] is a massive opportunity missed [for Spurs to win silverware].”

Tottenham will still dream of winning a first Champions League title this year ahead of AC Milan’s visit. Spurs also host the Rossoneri in between Premier League games against two relegation-threatened sides. They visit Wolves this Saturday then host Nottingham Forest.
