Son Heung-min has offered his support to former Tottenham Hotspur teammate Kyle Walker-Peters after receiving ridiculous abuse.
Southampton and Walker-Peters travelled to Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, facing Manchester United in the Premier League.
Walker-Peters will have been happy to take a point and keep a clean sheet against the Red Devils.
Every point matters for Southampton as they attempt to stay in the Premier League.
However, Walker-Peters was subjected to vile racist abuse on Instagram, leading Southampton to condemn the situation.
Southampton released a statement highlighting that nothing has changed in two years since the Saints had a player suffer racial abuse after facing Manchester United.
That’s an incredibly sad situation and Walker-Peters has taken to Instagram to share his thoughts.

Son Heung-min sends message to Kyle Walker-Peters
Walker-Peters noted that this situation is bigger than football and more must be done to stop such vile racist abuse.
A number of players moved to offer their support to Walker-Peters, including Manchester United ace Raphael Varane.
There was also a message from Walker-Peters’ former Tottenham Hotspur teammate Son Heung-min.
The pair played together at Spurs and have even done battle against each other on a number of occasions as a left winger against a right back.
‘Strength to you Kyle well said’ stated the South Korean as he made his position clear.
Fellow Tottenham ace Ryan Sessegnon also offered his support for Walker-Peters, as did former Spurs goalkeeper Michel Vorm.
Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho – who was injured in a challenge with Walker-Peters, which seemed to spark the abuse from fans – also supported the Saints defender.
This really is bigger than football and stories of players receiving racial abuse on social media after games is far too common.
The social media companies must do more to eradicate this issue and deal with the ridiculous messages players receive.
