Harry Winks makes frustration clear as he takes aim at Antonio Conte and Tottenham

Harry Winks opted to head to Sampdoria in the summer with his Tottenham minutes limited and the midfielder is yet to hear from Antonio Conte throughout his loan spell

Harry Winks admits Antonio Conte hasn't spoken to him once during his loan spell at Sampdoria.

The midfielder left Tottenham in the summer and moved to Italy in search of more minutes, but hasn't heard from anyone in north London since departing. He struggled with injury initially but has since become a regular for the Serie A outfit, who are fighting relegation.

Winks had previously been a regular at Tottenham having come through the club's academy. He established himself under Mauricio Pochettino but has fallen down the pecking order since with Conte preferring other options, but he's failed to check in on the club's loan export.

Winks told La Gazzetta dello Sport : “No one from Tottenham has contacted me, not even the coach. I was and remain totally focused on Sampdoria."

The 27-year-old has the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Oliver Skipp, Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma all ahead of him in the pecking order. It remains to be seen how his future will play out with Sampdoria rooted to the bottom of the table and destined for Serie B.

Winks has said on his next move: "I have a loan contract until June, I'm satisfied with this experience, I don't know what my future will be after June and I don't even think about it now. I'm only looking at the next match, but I was pleased to have made this choice last year last year, I'm proud of it. And I repeat it today, beyond the current difficulties".

Doubt surrounds the future of Conte at Tottenham, with the Italian's contract expiring this summer. All the noises suggest that he will depart the club in the summer with Pochettino among those who could replace him, which could open the door once more for Winks.

Conte previously spoke about Winks following his loan exit: "First of all we are talking about a really good player. Last season he played with us and he played well. It was for the player and the player felt this to try and go and play regularly, play every game. I think it is a good opportunity for Sampdoria, especially. They are getting a really good player.

"And also for Harry, to go outside of England and into Italy to play in an important league. It will be good. But he's going on loan, then next season we will see. For sure, we are talking about a really good player that is going there to play regularly and it is a great signing for Sampdoria if this deal is done."
