My Rangers career starts now, insists John Souttar as defender opens up on injury hell

JOHN SOUTTAR insists his Rangers career starts now after being struck with an injury shortly after joining the Ibrox club.
The Scotland defender joined the Light Blues on a free last summer after signing a pre-contract agreement in January with just six months left on his Hearts contract.
Souttar has struggled with injury setbacks throughout his career and sadly his time at Rangers has been no different.
He played the opening Scottish Premiership fixture of the season against Livingston on July 30 but was forced off in the second half during the 2-1 away win.
He suffered a blow to his ankle which has seen him miss the majority of the season, only returning to action earlier this month against Kilmarnock.
He made a brief cameo appearance off the bench against the Ayrshire side at Ibrox before making another sub outing against Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup.

Souttar has been back in training for a few weeks now and he's determined to kick-start his Gers career after being on the sidelines for majority of his Ibrox life so far.
Speaking to Rangers TV, the defender revealed: "Pre-season was a bit of a struggle for me, obviously because I brought over an injury from Scotland in the summer. It was tough for me because I felt like I was always managing an injury.
"But a few months down the line, I'm feeling brilliant. I'm just looking to start my Rangers career from now.
"When you think about signing for Rangers you think about starting, being 100 per cent, kicking on from where I was last season.

"I wanted to play in the Champions League so for me to get so close to that and having to watch them from the sides was difficult day-in, day-out.
"Especially at a new club because you want to show everyone how good you are. It was difficult from that point of view but I feel I'm now at a point where I can show everyone but I can do."
