Arsenal are allegedly 'pushing' to secure a deal for Eintracht Frankfurt playmaker Jesper Lindstrom during the summer transfer window.

Arsenal are allegedly keen to secure a summer deal for Eintracht Frankfurt playmaker Jesper Lindstrom.

The Gunners are currently enjoyed their best campaign for two decades with the club sitting eight points clear at the top of the Premier League standings.

That position has been achieved at a time when forward Gabriel Jesus has missed a large chunk of the season with a knee injury sustained at the World Cup.

Now that the Brazil international has recovered and proven his fitness, the former Manchester City should regain a regular spot down the middle of the attack.

Nevertheless, Mikel Arteta cannot claim to be blessed with a wide array of options in the final third, the Spaniard also missing Emile Smith Rowe for much of the campaign.

Doubts remain over whether Reiss Nelson will eventually sign fresh terms at the Emirates Stadium, while summer arrival Marquinhos is expected to be provided with another loan spell away from the club.

According to SPORT1 reporter Patrick Berger, the situation could be resolved by Arsenal making a sustained attempt to sign Lindstrom.

The versatile attacker has been a regular in the Frankfurt team during 2022-23, contributing eight goals and four assists in the Bundesliga and Champions League.

Lindstrom's development also led to him starting two of Denmark's three matches at the recent World Cup, although he was part of a team which failed to reach the last 16.

With over three years remaining on his contract, Frankfurt remain in a strong position to retain Lindstrom's services in the long term.

Nevertheless, the report suggests that Frankfurt may be willing to cash in on the 23-year-old for £26.3m, a figure which will naturally interest any admirers.

The report claims that three other Premier League clubs are monitoring the situation, although it is Arsenal who appear to be most keen to win the race for Lindstrom's signature.

Lindstrom is currently focused on trying to move Frankfurt back into the Champions League positions, the gap to fourth-placed Freiburg standing at six points.
