Aston Villa issue Boubacar Kamara update and injury latest ahead of Chelsea clash
Latest Aston Villa news from BirminghamLive brings an injury update ahead of the club's clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge
Aston Villa have delivered a quadruple injury update ahead of the clash with Chelsea on Saturday (5.30pm kick-off).
Villa will be looking to maintain the momentum that they built prior to the international break, with Unai Emery’s side on a four game unbeaten streak. The club travel to Stamford Bridge at the weekend and have the opportunity to move above Chelsea into the top half with a win against Graham Potter’s side.
Emery’s positive run of results has been made even more impressive by the current lack of numbers at his disposal. Ahead of Villa’s trip to west London, the club gave the latest on four players that have been on the sidelines, including a notable update on Boubacar Kamara .

The France international was subbed off during the win over Crystal Palace earlier this month following a poor challenge from Cheick Doucoure. Kamara subsequently missed Villa’s next two games with an ankle injury, with John McGinn filling in next to Douglas Luiz.
However, Kamara could potentially find himself back in contention to face Chelsea at the weekend. The midfielder has returned to Villa training and will be part of Emery’s squad, if he completes tomorrow’s session.
The Villa boss will already have his midfield options bolstered by the return of Leander Dendoncker . The versatile Belgian was absent for Villa’s last three games due to a domestic accident but is now available for selection after training at Bodymoor Heath for the last two weeks.
The club were handed a fresh injury blow during the international break, though. Matty Cash was substituted during Poland’s game with Czech Republic and the right-back is set to be out for the next two to three weeks with a calf problem.
Elsewhere, Philippe Coutinho is continuing his recovery from a hamstring injury. The Brazilian looked to be finally rediscovering his rhythm when he scored his first goal of the season against Arsenal last month but has been sidelined for Villa’s last four games.
