Erling Haaland RE-JOINS Nike as Man City star shuns interest from adidas and Puma to pen lucrative boot deal... with US giant tipping him to leave 'his stamp on the future of the game' as face of the brand
- Haaland had been seen wearing adidas and Puma, but chose to stick with Nike
- The 22-year-old joins Man City teammate Kevin De Bruyne on Nike's roster
- The striker's fitness for Saturday's crunch clash will be subject to a late test
Erling Haaland is the latest Manchester City star to net a multi-million-pound boot deal after re-signing for Nike.
The Norwegian, whose fitness will be a last-minute decision for City’s clash against Liverpool on Saturday lunchtime, had been courted by adidas and Puma.
One of the hottest properties in the sport, Haaland has been in demand after his initial Nike deal ended at the start of the year.
City’s kit manufacturers Puma landed Jack Grealish instead on terms understood to total £50million over five years, the largest contract ever handed to a British footballer.
Haaland’s lawyer, Rafaela Pimenta, had claimed in October that the 22-year-old was going to ‘sign the biggest sponsorship deal in the history of football’ but details of his Nike contract have remained secret.

Erling Haaland has re-signed a deal with Nike, a brand he has worked with since the age of 14

Haaland's Man City teammate Kevin De Bruyne is also on Nike's star-studded football roster

Nike's previous lucrative boot deal with the Norwegian star striker ran out in January 2022
Kevin De Bruyne, Kylian Mbappe and Marcus Rashford are among the other superstars in the American manufacturer’s stable.
A Nike statement on Friday read: ‘Haaland’s unprecedented rise through European club football, complete with a staggering pace of record-breaking goalscoring, cements his stamp on the future of the game.’

Nike beat off competition for the 22-year-old's signature from rival brands adidas and Puma
