The Malik Tillman Rangers transfer puzzle that Glen Kamara solves as Ibrox odd man out floated in player trading fix

The Ibrox club are keen on triggering a £5m option to buy in the playmaker's Bayern Munich loan deal.

A permanent Rangers transfer move for Malik Tillman could be funded by outgoings like Glen Kamara this summer, according to former Ibrox goalkeeper Cammy Bell.

Boss Michael Beale has stated that that sporting director Ross Wilson is in contact with Bayern Munich over making the loan agreement permanent with the Scottish Premiership club holding a £5million option to land the 20-year-old on a permanent deal this summer. And Bell reckons some shrewd player trading could be put in place behind the scenes to fund the deal, with Kamara dropping down the pecking order at Ibrox.

Following the arrival of Nicolas Raskin, the Finland international has found regular game time hard to come by with Ryan Jack and John Lundstram also preferred by Beale in the midfielder engine room. The 27-year-old's last start came in the Viaplay Cup final defeat to Celtic back in February - where he was replaced by Raskin after 65 minutes.

Since then, he has made just one appearance off the bench - being handed a 10 minute cameo against Motherwell last month. Former Rangers and Kilmarnock shot-stopper Bell reckons the likes of Kamara could be sold to fund the deal to permanently take Tillman from Bavaria.

Asked if he would expect Rangers to get £5million for Kamara, Bell told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: "I don't think so. A couple of seasons ago, yes, but at this moment in time they would maybe get a couple of million for him. The £5m mark is probably pushing it.

"They can use the money from moving players on. If they are looking to move players on, and get some good value from them they can use the money to invest in Tillman.

"He is an investment, for me he is a player that is going to get better. On these big occasions he needs to step up, but he is going to get experience of these big games and what it takes to be a Rangers player."
