AC Milan 1 Napoli 0: Ex-Arsenal kid Bennacer scores only goal as ten-man Napoli fall short
FORMER Arsenal kid Ismael Bennacer struck his first-ever Champions League goal to make it advantage Milan in this all-Italian quarter-final.
Midfielder Bennacer, 25, struck the only goal of the game towards the end of the first half as Napoli saw Frank Anguissa sent off for two yellows in four minutes.
Luciano Spalletti’s Serie A leaders went into this game as favourites and had a number of early chances.
But they sorely lacked the clinical finishing of Chelsea target Victor Osimhen, who was out injured with an adductor problem.
Milan made them pay as Brahim Diaz and Rafa Leao combined to tee up Bennacer who lashed home on 40 minutes.
Danish defender Simon Kjaer, who shackled Harry Kane in the last 16 triumph over Tottenham, then hit the bar with a header for the hosts.
