Greek authorities also reportedly found drugs in Klaiman's possession.

Along with Escoval, who was released by police, Klaiman's contract has been terminated by Volos president Achilleas Beos.

Former Hapoel Tel-Aviv goalkeeper Klaiman, who has denied the charges, was held for questioning and will face a judge on Thursday.

If the one-cap international is found guilty he could face more than 10 years in prison.

A statement released by Volos said: 'By decision of the president of PAE Volos, Achilleas Beos - Boris Klaiman and Rodrigo Escoval have been left out of the team and the process to terminate their contracts has begun.

'Their managers have already been informed.'
