Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed it was a 'pleasure' to have worked with Rudi Garcia after Al Nassr relieved the Frenchman of his duties.

The Saudi Pro League club and Garcia have parted ways amid reports his relationship with the players, including Ronaldo, had broken down.

The news of Garcia’s departure has come as no surprise to many, with the Middle East outfit confirming the news in a statement on the club’s Twitter page.

It read: “Al-Nassr can announce that Head Coach Rudi Garcia has left the club by mutual agreement.

“The board and everyone at Al-Nassr would like to thank Rudi and his staff for their dedicated work during the past 8 months.”

The club has been quick to act by promoting U19 coach Dinko Jelicic to take charge of the first team.

Garcia's exit comes after Ronaldo stormed off the pitch during Sunday’s 0-0 draw against Al Feiha.

Ronaldo became frustrated with his own teammates and ranted at opposition players at full time, telling Al Feiha winger Ali Al-Zaqaan: “You don’t want to play,” accusing him of time wasting.

The former Manchester United star then stormed down the tunnel and refused to shake hands with opposing players.

Sections of the Saudi press had claimed that Ronaldo became frustrated with Garcia in charge and the 38-year-old didn't hesitate in communicating his concerns to senior figures at the club.

But it remains to be seen whether he had any role in his axing, with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner issuing a heartfelt message to the Frenchman on his Instagram story.

Sharing a snap of the pair together, Ronaldo captioned the image: "Pleasure to have worked with you.
