Danny Ings has now hinted that West Ham United are right to not sack their manager, David Moyes. The Scot has fought an uncertain future amid the Irons’ relegation fight.
West Ham are 14th in the Premier League table after 29 games following their 1-0 win over Fulham last Saturday. Harrison Reed’s own goal in the 23rd minute proved the difference at Craven Cottage. But a defeat in west London may have cost Moyes his job in the east end.
Reports by The Guardian before the game claimed West Ham would look to replace Moyes if Fulham had won. The Irons have sought to keep faith in the 59-year-old. But the manner of their 5-1 defeat to Newcastle United saw owner David Sullivan’s total support disappear.

West Ham are one of two relegation-threatened sides yet to sack their manager
Only West Ham and Nottingham Forest have not sacked their managers, Moyes and Steve Cooper, amid this season’s relegation fight. Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Leeds, Leicester, Southampton and Wolves have each changed head coaches at some stage during the term.
Aston Villa also fired Steven Gerrard in October to ward off a potential relegation fight. The Birmingham team are now contending for a place in Europe next season under Unai Emery. While Southampton are on their third coach this season but are at the bottom of the table.

Danny Ings now declares his trust in David Moyes at the London Stadium helm
Ings has now hinted that West Ham are right to not sack Moyes, despite their fight to avoid relegation from the Premier League. The striker has thrown his support behind the coach as he still believes in the Scot. Ings has also stated that Moyes was a key factor in his transfer.
“He was a big reason why [I joined this January],” Ings told the Daily Mail. “Some managers have gone, some have stayed. But he brings out the best in us when we really need it.”
West Ham backed Moyes to sign Ings from Aston Villa in January for £12m, rising to £15m. The 30-year-old had hit six goals in 18 Premier League games for the Villa Park outfit this season. He has since struck two in 10 for the Irons after a brace against Nottingham Forest.
