Football fans show backsides to penalty taker to try and put him off in Ligue 1 clash

Angers supporters did their best to put Clermont's Muhammed Cham off his penalty by dropping their trousers to flash their bums at the midfielder from behind the goal

Clermont midfielder Muhammed Cham did well not to make an a** of himself by ignoring a cheeky protest by Angers fans as he went to take a penalty.

The two sides met in a French Ligue 1 clash on Sunday, with Angers taking the lead through Adrien Hunou after 28 minutes. Grejohn Kyei then levelled from the penalty spot for Clermont five minutes later, before Angers were again penalised with a second penalty six minutes after the equaliser.

Clermont opted not to use the same taker, as Cham stepped forward instead, only to face a wall of bare backsides of Angers fans behind the goal as he prepared to take his spot kick. Remarkably Cham kept his nerve to ignore the glaring distraction and score to put Clermont in front with what proved to be the winning goal.

Angers will no doubt feel disappointed they weren't able to mount a comeback as Clermont were reduced to 10 men two minutes into first-half stoppage time when Neto Borges was sent off. They later went down to nine when Alidu Seidu also received his marching orders, though that was six minutes into injury time at the end of the game.

One quick-witted football fan commented on Twitter at the Angers' fans amusing stunt, writing: "No wonder they are at the 'bottom' of the table."

Angers look to be heading back to Ligue 2 next season as they are rooted to the foot of the table with just 14 points to show for their efforts this season. They are seven points behind both Ajaccio and Troyes, and a whopping 15 adrift of safety with only 21 points left to play for.

To make matters worse, their next fixture is against the likes of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and co, as league leaders Paris Saint-Germain make the trip there on Friday. They then face Rennes (sixth), Monaco (fourth), Marseille (third) and Reims (eighth) in a nightmare run.
