Sevilla midfielder Ivan Rakitic has warned that Manchester United's players do not know what is awaiting them when they travel to Spain for Thursday's Europa League quarter-final second leg.

United were in a strong position at half-time of the first leg after a Marcel Sabitzer brace put them in control. However, two late own goals from Tyrell Malacia and Harry Maguire ensured that the tie is firmly in the balance.

Ahead of the crucial second leg, Rakitic told AS that the Reds will need to rely on the likes of David de Gea and Casemiro to prepare them for the challenge that awaits. "These people don’t know what awaits them on Thursday," the Croatian explained.

"It is a team with a lot of experience and many millions, but United does not know what Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan is like packed. I know from when I was at Barcelona that players from other teams sing the Sevilla anthem on the pitch. It’s unique. What our fans have created is very impressive.

"De Gea or Casemiro, who have played here, will surely explain to them that this is something else. You go anywhere and they say that this is Sevilla’s competition.

"They are going to have to suffer, I cannot guarantee that we will qualify but we are going to leave everything on the field."

Sevilla have won the Europa League/UEFA Cup six times, more than any other club. However this season they have struggled in La Liga where they sit 13th. United meanwhile are back in high spirits after a 2-0 victory at Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
