There are many factors that might motivate an elite athlete to reach the pinnacle in their sport: money, fame and recognition being some of the most common.

But Turkish football fans believe there are two very specific assets responsible for Mauro Icardi's return to form—and they belong to his partner, Wanda Nara. The on-off again pair have become the source of many a headline due to the chaotic nature of their relationship over the past decade, though all appears to be well between the two.

For the time being, at least, and it shows in Icardi's output given he's one of the Super Lig's top scorers this season. The Argentinian joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain in September 2022, not long after it was reported he and former agent Nara were divorcing.

Icardi, 30, may consider extending his stay in Turkey's top flight judging by his success this season, scoring 13 goals and recording seven assists in just 17 league outings for Gala. That puts him fifth among the division's top scorers, with his form looking particularly impressive since the start of 2023.

And some fans considered it no coincidence the spark seemed to occur around the same time his romance with Wanda was reportedly reignited. More specifically, one supporter focused on Nara's breasts for putting her partner back in 'prime mode' following her latest Instagram upload.

Decked out in little else other than a piece of black leather lingerie, the Masterchef Argentina presenter treated her 16.3million followers to a birds-eye view of her bosom. If that's the angle Nara is willing to show the pubic, one can only imagine the kind of access Icardi is permitted (when the pair are on speaking terms).

The couple appear to have come a long way from Nara deleting all trace of Icardi from her profile during one of their disagreements in 2021. Fast-forward to today and Icardi can be seen dotted throughout Nara's timeline, with the pair looking as happy as ever.

If that's any sort of metric as to how Icardi's game is influenced by a relaxed personal life, he appears to be reaping the benefits. The former Inter Milan striker recently scored his first hat-trick for Galatasaray in a 6-0 evisceration of Kayserispor, followed up with another finish in Tuesday's 4-0 annihilation of Alanyaspor.

The old adage suggests a happy wife equals a happy life, and the phrase doesn't appear truer than in the case of one of football's most infamous relationships. Icardi will have one year left on his PSG deal at the time he's set to return to the French capital come May, but his stint in Turkey appears to have been a blessing in disguise.
