Rangers star Kemar Roofe spotted as he shares touching moment with ‘childhood hero’

KEMAR ROOFE has been keeping a low-profile recently.
Injuries have limited his involvement this season and hip surgery meant his campaign finished prematurely.
In total the Rangers crocked star has played just two hours under new manager Michael Beale.
And if there has been little to smile about for Roofe during the season - his face positively lit up when he had a brush with one of the game's greats during his rehabilitation.
The striker posted a proud picture to his Instagram profile rubbing shoulders with Arsenal legend Arsene Wenger.
And it fulfilled a dream for Roofe as a kid footballer - and Arsenal fan.

He captioned the image of his grin and thumbs up with the Frenchman in a glitzy rooftop restaurant as "My childhood hero".
The hashtag '#invincibles' referred to the Gunners' iconic team of 2003-04 who went through the season unbeaten with Wenger at the helm.
But it's an achievement both stars in the footballer's fan pic have earned.
While Wenger did it first when Roofe was just 11 years old, the striker was went on to become part of the unbeaten Rangers team which picked up league title 55 under Steven Gerrard without losing a Premiership match in 2020-21.

This season hasn't gone quite so well for the striker, or his team-mates.
Long-standing injury issues have limited his involvement for more than a year and he has been joined on the long-term absence list by the likes of Tom Lawrence and Filip Helander.
Meanwhile Roofe's strike partner Antonio Colak is on his way out of Ibrox.
The Gers will listen to summer offers for Colak after knocking back interest in January.
SunSport believes German and MLS outfits made moves for the striker during the winter transfer window.
Those were snubbed as Gers boss Michael Beale chased three domestic trophies in the second half of the season.
But after failing to land any silverware Gers are set for a massive clearout.
German-born Colak started the season on fire, with seven goals from his first nine games and has delivered 17 from 38 games.
But the goals have dried up, while he has also been troubled with injury issues.

It’s unclear if Colak is seeking a move, but it’s believed he would be interested in a potential switch to the Bundesliga if Gers agreed a deal with any of the clubs tracking his situation.
And we told you last month how the Croat had set tongues wagging on his Ibrox future by switching to a new football agent.
