Soccer Saturday legend Jeff Stelling made a cameo appearance on Ted Lasso.
Stelling appeared in the latest series of the hit Apple TV fictional football show that follows AFC Richmond and American boss Ted Lasso, played by Jason Sudeikis, during the side’s supposed Premier League journey.
The 68-year-old broadcaster previously confirmed his decision to step down from anchoring the popular Saturday afternoon football show Soccer Saturday, after hosting the original ‘Sports Saturday’ in 1994.

One of Stelling’s final moments on the famous Soccer Saturday panel came in an episode of Ted Lasso where the panel, including Soccer Saturday regular Clinton Morrison, react to a half-time incident that saw Richmond captain Isaac McAdoo enter the crowd to confront one of his own fans, who had thrown abuse the team's way.
Stelling tweeted a clip of his cameo in the show and captioned the post: “Enjoyed my cameos with Ted Lasso. Great show and great people to work with!”
Fans of both Stelling and the Richmond drama showed their support in the comments section.
One fan tweeted: “I’m really going to miss your friendly face on Saturday afternoons Jeff but I’m going to make the most of being able to see you while I can”
A second comment read: “Yes they’re funny inserts put into the show. What a great series it is as well.”
Whilst a third quipped: “I can see a Bafta for you and Clinton Morrison, Jeff.”

It’s not Stelling’s first appearance on the show after he previously featured in an earlier episode on the Soccer Saturday panel alongside fictional Richmond legend Roy Kent, who embarked on an X-rated rant about his former club Chelsea.
Kent’s outburst was portrayed in a similar vein to Roy Keane but with the added expletives not heard from Keane on live television.
