Pep Guardiola explains what he said to 'unnecessary' Yerry Mina after Man City win
Pep Guardiola went onto the pitch at full-time to have words with Everton defender Yerry Mina
Pep Guardiola was not happy with Yerry Mina's conduct during Manchester City's match with Everton - and told him so after the game.
Mina was involved in a number of confrontations with City players, including a first-half incident with Aymeric Laporte that saw the referee involved. At the end of the match, Guardiola went onto the pitch to speak to the Everton centre-back before also having a conversation with his team-mate Connor Coady.
The City manager said his chat with Coady was warm given his admiration for the player, but while he rates Mina he did not have kind words for the defender. Instead, Guardiola followed several of his players in expressing his unhappiness.

"It is not necessary what he does, with everyone," he said of Mina. "It's a football game, it is not necessary to do what he does every single game. I told him you are a good enough player to not have to do that.
"This is not about the physical. Not mental either. There are things it is not necessary to do and he does them all the time."
Guardiola was much happier about the performance of his team. "I was really impressed the way Everton handled the game against Brighton but from the first minute we controlled the game.
"With exceptional transitions, especially Doucoure is so dangerous and every corner and free-kick they are the best team in the Premier League since Sean Dyche's appointment. At Burnley, but here especially it is almost a goal every time. You suffer a lot.
"Arsenal lost here from one corner but we had the patience and momentum and movements from Riyad [Mahrez] and Phil [Foden] was really good behind."
