Aston Villa supporters have been reacting to the reports that Mateu Alemany has offered to stay put at Barcelona.
The U-turn came as a surprise on Wednesday afternoon, when reports from Spain emerged that Alemany "offered to continue" at Camp Nou instead of making the move to Villa Park.

Here is a look at what some supporters are saying on Twitter:
@Trentvilla1 : This is really bad news and frankly a little embarrassing for us.
@Lchapman1304 : That was a fun summer transfer window while it lasted.
@onestar1982 : No paella on the menu at the Belfry?
@rossnorm : Can't see our owners being happy with this decision. I'd expect them to move quickly and appoint someone of similar standing.
@BOOMBEEF : Clearly wasn't happy about something.... Maybe its because we aren't going to be having the summer we think.
@CjJones94 : On Alemany, you can’t miss what you never had.
@Barnster31 : Wonder if Unai will attempt to get his mate from Sociedad again? Or will we go for Cordon?
