Guus Hiddink hopeful Cesc Fabregas will be available for Crystal Palace trip

Guus Hiddink is hopeful that Cesc Fabregas will be available for Saturday's match against Crystal Palace after recovering from illness.

Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink has claimed that Cesc Fabregas is likely to be available for this weekend's visit to Crystal Palace after recovering from illness.

The Spain international was absent from the Blues' goalless draw against Manchester United on Monday due to a high temperature.

The midfielder, who has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season, has since trained and took part in a full game with the Blues' academy.

"[Fabregas] trained today, he played in a game against the academy and he played the full game," Hiddink told reporters. "So he has recovered from his temperature problem."

Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao are doubts for the match, while Gary Cahill is touch and go due to an ankle problem.

Hiddink said: "Cahill didn't come on to the pitch this morning, which means he has a small problem but we have a couple of days to assess that. It is his ankle - some ligaments are a little tight."

Chelsea are currently 14th in the Premier League table.
