Arsenal super fan from Kenya given 'second best day of his life' at Emirates Stadium

As part of the ‘Global Gunners’ initiative with Emirates, Adrian Ntwatwa was flown in from his home in Kenya and given the VIP treatment by club legend and ambassador Gilberto Silva.

A long-distance Arsenal fan enjoyed the ‘second best’ day of his life when he was given VIP treatment at Emirates.

As part of the ‘Global Gunners’ project with main club sponsor Emirates, Ugandan national Adrian Ntwatwa was flown in from his home in Kenya. He was greeted off the flight by none other than former Arsenal midfielder and club ambassador Gilberto Silva.


He was then driven to the stadium, where he was reunited with Sam, a London-based friend and fellow Ugandan, whom he had not seen for more than a decade.

The pair were also treated to a behind-the-scenes stadium tour, including a trip to the press conference room, before a game, with the pair shaking hands with several players as they arrived.

Adrian’s name was broadcast on the club’s big screen while the pals were presented with replica shirts with their names on the back.

As they showed off the shirts, Adrian told club media: “Thank you Emirates. This has been the best day of my life, after my wedding day!”

He then enjoyed the game before telling Gilberto: “This has been the experience of a lifetime for me, it’s been a pleasure meeting you, you’ve been amazing.”

The pair then shared a huge. At the end of the video, Adrian added: “Thank you everyone, it has been an amazing experience.”

After arriving from Brazilian club Atlético Mineiro in 2002, Gilberto was part of the ‘Invincibles’ squad of 2003/04. Overall, he spent six years with the club, playing at both Highbury and the Emirates.

The 93-cap Brazilian international went on to play for Panathinaikos, Gremio and Atletico Mineiro again before returning to the Emirates in an ambassadorial role.
