Martin O'Neill shuts down Callum McGregor 'Celtic legend' doubts as he points Eilidh Barbour to his trophy cabinet

McGregor has won 19 trophies and counting and is considered a modern day Celtic legend.

Martin O'Neill on the Sky Sports panel at Celtic Park

Martin O'Neill is in no doubt Callum McGregor is a Celtic legend as much as any of them after he claimed his 19th trophy on Saturday.

Parkhead skipper McGregor can make it another Treble on Sunday to take his total haul to 20 in green and white. He got his hands on another league title on Saturday as he lifted the Premiership trophy aloft for the second time as captain and the eighth time in total and he stands just three trophies away from surpassing Scott Brown's total of 22.

There was talk about the skipper on Sky Sports' coverage of their victory over Aberdeen and host Eilidh Barbour asked the panel whether McGregor CAN be considered a Celtic legend alongside greats like Brown and Billy McNeill. But O'Neill was quick off the bat, responding, "well, he's won 19 trophies," to put an end to the short-lived debate. The quick-witted response sparked a chuckle from Barbour herself as well as fellow pundits James McFadden and Stiliyan Petrov.
