Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has admitted that he "regrets" his outburst towards the press during France's Euro 2012 campaign.

The former Arsenal playmaker launched a verbal attack at a journalist following France's 2-0 defeat to Spain in the quarter-finals.

Nasri wrote on Twitter: "I would just like to let the supporters and especially the children know that I sincerely regret that my words may have shocked them."

The 25-year-old went on to say that he has a problem with certain journalists and will explain his reasons at a more appropriate time.
