Alexis Sanchez is reportedly open to a return to the Premier League - after his contract with Marseille expires at the end of the season.

Sanchez, 34, will be a free agent this summer, and he's refused to rule out a return to England's top flight. Sanchez had the best days of his career at Arsenal, but he was also widely ridiculed as a flop after a move to Manchester United.

The Chilean struggled for the Red Devils, and after being hailed as their new saviour he left with a whimper. Reports from Chile have suggested the Gunners are considering making a move for their former superstar.

Arsenal fans are keen on a Sanchez return, and one fan tweeted: "I would take Alexis Sanchez back for a season or two for the Cup games and as a backup if he wants for all games next season.

"No way Saka and Martinelli should be playing all PL, CL, or FA Cup games. Alexis still has the hustle. He will fit with our team B." While a second added: "He's a winner, he's more than welcome back imo!"

"Heart is saying yes but head is saying no… F**k it, one last dance. Come back @Alexis_Sanchez," a third tweeted.

Speaking about his move to the Red Devils, Sanchez said: "Suddenly the cell phone rings. [Jose] Mourinho tells me: 'Alexis, here is the seven [shirt] available for you.'

"That's when I said to myself, Chilean footballer playing for Manchester United, something that has never happened." However, he later added: "After the first training session, I realised many things & when I got back home.
