Manchester United have been named as one of the world’s most valuable football clubs by Forbes – seeing their valuation close to the Glazers asking price amid takeover talks
Manchester United have been named as one of the world’s most valuable football clubs by Forbes.
Forbes have published their list of the top 30 most valuable football clubs in the world and United take the crown for the highest-valued English club, with only Real Madrid pipping them in the world.
United are joined by Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal in the top 10 whilst West Ham United, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Leicester City, Aston Villa and Everton all feature in the top 30.

The reveal would’ve been closely followed by those involved in United’s takeover talk that sees the Glazers holding out for a bid of £6billion – precisely what the Red Devils have most recently been valued at.

Real Madrid lead the way with a current value of $6.07bn, but they have the second highest revenue behind Manchester City – despite City being only 5th on the list for value.
El Classico rivals Barcelona come in 3rd with a value of $5.51bn, ahead of Liverpool in 4th with Jurgen Klopp’s side valued at $5.29bn and Pep Guardiola’s side in 5th with a $4.99bn valuation.
Chelsea’s valuation of $3.1bn is higher than North London rivals Spurs and Arsenal who are valued at $2.8bn and $2.26bn respectively – Bayern Munich and PSG make up the final two top ten spots in 6th and 7th correspondingly.
United’s latest ranking on Forbes’ list spells good news to the Glazers who are listening to offers to sell their majority stake within the club – seeing their arduous £6bn asking price vindicated in what would be a record deal to takeover a sports team.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe remains the Glazers priority bidder with the Ineos boss’ offer seeing the Glazers remain as minority shareholders at Old Trafford, compared to Sheikh Jassim’s bid proposing a full takeover of the club.
Erik ten Hag’s side confirmed their return to the Champions League next season via a 3rd place finish in the Premier League – offering the club further scope to increase their revenue and overall worth in the years to come.
