On his way? Adama Traore

Bookies have suspended betting on Adama Traore going to Saudia Arabia as speculation grows on the future of the out-of-contract Wolves forward.

Bet365 had the player at 16/1 yesterday to go to Saudia Arabia but have stopped taking bets as fans wait to see where the 27 year old will be playing his football next season. the winger has been linked with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad who have just signed Karim Benzema from Real Madrid. The former Aston Villa and Middlesbrough wide-man has also been linked with Spurs, Barcelona, Napoli and Sevilla.

A Bet365 spokesman said: “We had seen a few nibbles for a return to Spain in the form of Sevilla but, with the support we’ve seen over the latest 24 hours, I’d be amazed if Adama isn’t the latest name to be plying his trade in Saudi Arabia.”

Wolves would like to keep Traore, even though he is at the end of the five-year contract he signed when joining from Middlesbrough. Sporting director Matt Hobbs confirmed last week the club wanted to keep the Spaniard.

He said: “As the manager said in his press conferences recently, Adama is a player we’d like to keep and we’re still talking to him. He’s now out of contract, but it doesn’t mean there’s not an opportunity to still come to an agreement, so conversations will be ongoing. He’s probably earned the right to understand what else is out there.

“He’s a great guy around the place, always happy and friendly, so on every level we’d like to keep him. Sometimes it’s not possible, but we’ll certainly be trying. We hope we can come to an agreement but let’s see what happens over the next few weeks.”
