Birmingham City could be offered Ivan Sunjic transfer boost after disastrous Hertha Berlin loan
Latest Birmingham City news from BirminghamLive includes an update on record signing Ivan Sunjic
Birmingham City midfielder Ivan Sunjic is being linked with a transfer to Turkey after his unsuccessful loan spell at Hertha Berlin.
According to multiple reports in Turkey, one-time Croatia international Sunjic is on Trabzonspor’s wish-list this summer. The 26-year-old is set to return to Blues after a miserable stint in Berlin, where he played 18 Bundesliga games as Hertha finished bottom of the pile.
Footage emerged of Sunjic being banished from training by Hertha manager Pal Dardai back in April. He didn’t play a game for Hertha after featuring as a substitute in their 1-1 draw with Mainz on March 11.
Sunjic only played 993 minutes in the Bundesliga and Hertha declined their option to buy him. Trabzonspor, who finished sixth in the Turkish Super Lig, could now be an option for Sunjic.

Numerous Turkish news outlets, including Fotospor, have named Sunjic as a player of interest for Trabzonspor. Blues need to find a way to offload him this summer ahead of his contract expiring next summer.
Sunjic joined Blues from Dinamo Zagreb in 2019 for a fee in excess of £6million, which made him the club’s record signing. He has made 133 appearances for Blues, scoring six goals.
