Boubacar Kamara was called back from his honeymoon to replace Adrien Rabiot as France prepare for their upcoming European Championship qualifiers.
The Aston Villa midfielder spent portions of 2022-23 out of the squad injured, but made his way into the side for the tail end of the campaign, starting both of Unai Emery's side's final two games.
At that point, he had looked set for a fairly quiet summer with his honeymoon tabled for the off-season having recently tied the knot with partner Coralie Porrovecchio.
However, after the Juventus midfielder picked up an injury to his right calf, Kamara was drafted in as a replacement, prompting him to race home from his holiday with Porrovecchio.
She took to Instagram to share snaps of the two on their hurried trip back home to France, where the midfielder would join up with his team-mates at Clairefontaine, French football's home.

Kamara and Porrovecchio - a former Miss Belgium beauty contestant - tied the knot after a long relationship
Porrovecchio shared a picture of the pair's hastily packed bags, followed by a shot of them in a car on the road, captioned 'on my way', before they arrived at the airport.
With her honeymoon cut short, Porrovecchio then posted an image captioned 'I don't know whether to laugh or cry'.
The newly-weds eventually arrived at the airport, before she posted an image of the French Football Federation's (FFF) statement confirming her husband's call-up with a white love heart.
While not the summer he anticipated, Kamara will surely be immensely proud of being called up to represent his side.
The 23-year-old has played three times for France, all of which came last summer in the UEFA Nations League, drawing to Austria and Croatia and being defeated by the World Cup's third-placed side soon after.
He will now have a chance to add to his caps tally, as Les Bleus prepare to face Gibraltar on Friday, and Greece on Monday.
The midfielder joined Villa last summer on a free from boyhood club Marseille, and has since made 26 appearances for the Villains, providing an assist.
He will be playing European football next season, too, after Emery and Co beat Brighton on the final day of the season to secure qualification for the Europa Conference League.
