His performances in claiming five league titles in Germany, and 2020's Champions League success, have led to transfer speculation.
And Davies has now revealed he was signed by Bayern to replace Arjen Robben in attack but is currently 'stuck' at left-back four years after his move to Germany.
'I was signed to replace Arjen Robben and when David Alaba got injured, I was then used as a full-back. And now, three, four years later, I'm stuck there,' he said speaking on the Say Less podcast.

Davies also added that he is 'waiting for the chance to play up top' but it appears likely as Bayern have a number of players in that position.
Robben departed Bayern in the summer of 2019 and has since been replaced by the likes of Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane, with Davies the first choice left-back.
The club are currently in ongoing contract talks with the Canadian, who is currently tied to the German champions until 2025.
It is thought that reaching out to potential suitors might be part of a plan to get the Bundesliga club to act in Davies's favour.
He has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, although they would want to wait until next year when he will have just one year left on his current contract.
