Chesterfield hope to emulate Wrexham and Paul Mullin blueprint after signing EFL goal-machine Will Grigg

Chesterfield have completed the landmark signing of Will Grigg to spearhead their National League title charge.
The Spireites announced the deal for the EFL goal-machine as he arrives at the club from MK Dons for an undisclosed fee.
Having worked under boss Paul Cook during their time together at Wigan there's a clear incentive to join the promotion charge, however Grigg will also be hoping to emulate the success enjoyed by Paul Mullin at Wrexham.
Similarly to the now-global superstar Mullin, Grigg has enjoyed a hugely successful career in the EFL with clubs including Brentford, MK Dons and Wigan.
After scoring at least 20 goals in three separate campaigns in League One, Grigg even earned a £3million move to Sunderland in the third tier in 2019.
Now 31 years of age, Grigg will be hoping that he can follow in Mullin's footsteps as he steps into non-league football.
In two seasons with Wrexham, the prolific striker has bagged a stunning 74 goals in 90 appearances for the Red Dragons, including an impressive 46 in their promotion-winning campaign last term.
With Wrexham's Hollywood owner Ryan Reynolds describing Mullin as 'the special person in his life' in a light-hearted advert, Grigg will be hoping that he can have a similar impact for Chesterfield.
The Spireites narrowly missed out on promotion last term after being beaten by Notts County in the play-off final last month.
